Bella's Dance Pictures

Hey y'all, remember me?

I won't even try to bore you with explanations, excuses, lies or stories about my absence.  Instead I am going to show you dance pictures of my sweet Bella.  I'm so in love with my children.  I know she's MY daughter but I just think she is absolutely beautiful.  :)

These were the professional pictures taken before the year ended.

I love them all but this last one is my favorite.  It really captures that beautiful smile of hers, and her hair before we cut it. Gush, gush, gush...

Here are some pictures of my girl I took the night of her dance recital.  It was a fun and crazy night.  I missed most all of the other performances because I was with Bella in the back in between their own dances but let me tell you, I was so very proud of my girl.  She still had to look off to the side for guidance on the dances but did really well.

More gushing....that's my girl.  I know, I know...hush already.

This last picture of mommy and daughter I just love because in this picture, I can see where she's beginning to look like me.  Folks tell me all the time that she looks like me.  I rarely see it because in reality, she really looks like her daddy.  But here...I think she's mommy's girl.  Its probably just the make-up, hair and dress but hey, I'll take it!!  :)

We had fun in her first year of dance and I'm am super proud of my girl!  She had her whiny days but when she focused and had fun, she was beautiful and did a great job.  She is back and forth on whether or not she wants to dance next year.  We had opportunities to take classes this summer but we were both ready for the break (Pop too because he would get her to dance for me).  We'll see what's decided come September.  After all, my girl will be starting Kindergarten this coming year and that will be a big change for her...and mommy!!  Let's not even discuss the FRESHMAN in my house either.  That's a whole other post!  LOL!!

Y'all have a good one!!

Festival of Lights

Bella had her very first dance performance this past weekend at the Festival of Lights.  Thank goodness they were able to perform inside because it was cold, wet and just plain yucky outside and as you'll see from the pictures, our girls would have froze!

I know I'm her momma but I think she's a little princess here...

Her daddy brought his camera and took some pics while she was dancing.  All the girls did so good but again, I'm especially proud of Miss Bella. Their little routine was to Frosty The Snowman and they were so adorable.  Aren't their costumes the cutest?!

Here they are at the end. Bella is second from the left waving at her mommy :)

And after with a very proud momma!

And a very proud Godmomma :)  DiDi is also my cousin.

And the three of us...

Dina took a picture of Bella with mommy and daddy both with her but I'm guessing it didn't turn out because I didn't get that one.  Oh well.  We tried.  They will have one more Christmas performance the first weekend in December at Light Up The Capitol and I can't wait to watch my little Boo again.

Oh...I have to show you this picture of her hair when I finished curling it.  It was soooo beautiful. And then it fell.  I was sad.  It still had some wave and small curl to it but looked nothing like this.  Oh well...she was still beautiful and I am still proud of her.  Not too bad at all for her first year and first performance!

Can't wait to see how she'll improve through the year!!

Y'all have a great one!

Notes From Our First Dance Class

Yes, I did type "our first dance class" because it was mine and Bella's first day.  I have never been to a dance class nor have I ever taken dance but I came away with lots of notes that I would like to share with you...

  • Arrive in enough time to get a good seat.  Up front where you can actually watch your daughter practice.  Not stuck behind the family of 40 who come to watch one child.  Yes I'm exaggerating but damn people, have some manners and sit down please.

  • Have your daughter try on her tights before the first day of dance class to make sure they actually fit her.  Apparently they come with wide-ass feet!  Who knew?

  • Dress comfortable.  Try not to come straight from work with heels on.  I was fine but when one has to take her child to the bathroom and you must walk across the gymnastics mat, the girls cringe at the sight of your heels. Tippy toe walking in heels is not as easy as you think.

  • Bring tissues for two reasons.  One, you may cry at how beautiful your daughter looks.  Two, your daughter may need to wipe her runny nose as its very cold in the practice area.

  • Wear light clothing.  Its warm in the "watch" area.

  • In the off chance you arrive late and get a back row seat, bring something to entertain yourself as straining your neck to see your child gets old, plus it hurts.

  •  Throw a granola bar and bottle of water in your bag as well.  Thirstiness (a word my sis and mom came up with) and the urge for a snack hits when you least expect it. That hour can last longer than you think.

  • Ballet is absolutely beautiful, even when its little ones learning the craft.

  • Most importantly, when your child waves or smiles at you, wave back, give her thumbs up and blow kisses so she knows she is doing an awesome job, then motion for her to pay attention.

My girl did a great job on her first day.  She started out a little rough but quickly came around and got in the game.  They started with ballet so she was a little disappointed. She prefers her "clacking" shoes (tap) to her ballet shoes.  I'm going to make some adjustments to her attire (tights) and prepare my Daddy as much as I can because next Monday, he will be getting her ready and taking her. That, my dear friends, is an awesome Pop...and Daddy!!
