Randomness and A Recipe

I have been trying to embrace this whole March Spring thing that's happening on the calendar. Planting flowers, polishing my nails with a Springy color, wearing more dresses and skirts. I'm not quite there but I'm getting there.  The time change this weekend will certainly help I think.  I'll be tired but it'll help.  ha!

A couple few weeks ago I had a random day off.  It was more that Bella was throwing up in the morning, not because she was sick, but because her allergies have been really bad and she had drainage and mucus in her throat.  She has a hard time getting it up, chokes a little and boom.  I stayed home and took her to see Dr. Patti to prove to her that mommy knew what she was talking about.  No fever, no nothing but drainage.  Mommy was right and Dr. Patti did a fine job of telling Bella to trust me  Take your medicine because it only works if you take it, every day.  Thank you Dr. Patti!

Anyway, since she was obviously fine, I took advantage of the day and we ran some errands after we got back to town.  I got my taxes dropped off, swung by the bank, trip to the grocery store and ran into Brazos Avenue Market (BAM) to see if could spend my gift card I've had since mid-December.  There was a top they posted on Instagram that I really liked so I asked about it and sure enough, they had it.  This is me trying it on and sending a pic to my girlfriend asking her opinion....

Her reply..."its supposed to be off the shoulder girl...show some skin!"  yes I know that but it keeps slipping.  I hem-hawed because if I tried a larger size, the sleeves would have come down to my ankles.  That's a bit of an exaggeration but its almost accurate.  I ended up getting the top and now just waiting for the right opportunity to wear it.  Side note, I was telling the ladies at work about this top and they tell me there is some kind of tacky tape you can use to help it stay in place.  I haven't looked into it but most certainly will.

Last weekend I met up with Kristian for some crawfish and beer at our local spot, Shady's.  Man I was one happy girl!  I had been craving crawfish for a while and was finally able to get my hands on some.  They do a pretty damn good job.

Sunday, it was a rainy day so I threw a roast in the crock pot for dinner.  My sister had told me a while back about the concoction she uses for her crock pot roast and how much the family loves it so I decided to give it a whirl. Here it is...

It was really good.  I didn't tell the kids I was trying something new, I just did it. The only other thing I threw in the crock pot was carrots. Christopher doesn't care for the potatoes when I cook them with the roast so I leave them out and just make mashed potatoes separately. Bella turned her nose up to it and wouldn't even try it.  Kid doesn't know what she's missing out on.  I'm now going to really tortured y'all with this pic...

It really was good.  Christopher was a fan and I definitely will be making it this way again.  I even made a lunch for me to take Monday.  A lunch that I left sitting on the counter at home.  A lunch I had to painfully throw away when I got home.  I was very sad.

Today I am happy because its FRIDAY!!!  This week has been a long one so I'm looking forward to the weekend.  Hope ya'll have a great one.

Randoms

Happy Tuesday y'all!  I'm trying my best to put on a happy face because its Tuesday and not Monday but its proving to be difficult.  When my alarm when off this morning, I was thinking it was already Wednesday so I was doing a mini happy dance in my head because Thursday is really our Friday since we have a holiday this week.  That happy dance quickly went away when I was in the shower and realized it was actually Tuesday.  Curses!  Oh what disappointment.

On a brighter side, check out my ring....

Actually, it was one of Momma's rings.  Its very springy so I've been wearing it this week.  Do you know I remember when we picked this ring out for her.  I don't remember if it was for Mother's Day or her birthday but I do remember going with Daddy to find her something. We chose this one because it was different with all the colors and because she didn't have anything like it.  Good memory.

I was feeling pretty good about my outfit today, especially since my little priss pot helped pick out my necklace, so I decided to take a pic.  I do want to know why my pics always look ridiculous but when I see the EXACT same picture on others, it looks good?

A few weeks ago when the little priss pot and I went shopping for sandals, we popped into Buckle to check out some capris for me.  Well, the sales lady found some clothes for the priss pot to try on.  She also brought me a cute little top to try.  I was in the middle of texting a girlfriend so we took this pic to show her.

I didn't get anything for myself but I splurged big time and got the priss pot the outfit in this picture.

Also a few weeks ago, I received this from the ex boyfriend....

We are talking.  I don't know what will come of all this talk, if anything.  We shall see. Stay tuned.

Pretty Much Sums It Up

No one in our house wanted to get up and get back to the routine this morning.  I gave myself a few extra minutes of sleep this morning since I showered and washed my hair last night.  I usually shower in the mornings but I just felt like one last night.  Good thing for me huh.

Our weekend was pretty low key.  The absolute best highlight was Saturday.  I spent the day with my Aunts, aka...Mom's sisters and my cousin Dina.  They came down for my jewelry party I was having. Talk about laughs, gosh we have such a hooting good time when we are together.  And I will say it again, its like having Mom here when they are around.  Such precious time to be spent.  I truly treasure any time I get to spend with them, any family actually.  Its times like Saturday that I truly miss being younger when I felt like we saw each other on a more regular basis.  It may not have really been all that regular, but it was definitely more than what we see of each other now.  I miss that.  And I tell myself that I need to make time to spend with everyone more.  But its true that it gets harder for everyone because there is always so much going on.  Maybe its just me, but life just seems to be way more busier than it was growing up.  I'm sure that had a lot to do with me just being a kid and having no worries but how much play time I'd get outside before I had to come in for the day. Gosh, those were the days.

I would definitely travel.  I would see all the places I've always wanted to see.  On the way to all those places, I would stop in to visit and spend time with all my family.  Now....I just need to play the lottery.

Y'all have a good one.

Random Phone Pics

I do take a lot of pictures with my phone but not all of it makes it to my blog, FB, Instagram or Twitter so I thought I would dump what I have taken pics of since my last post and share some of it with you.  :)

I came across this recipe in a magazine...most definitely need to try this one out!!
Pumpkin Caramel Pecan Cheesecake.

This is my chalkboard sign that I wrote on a few months back with my chalkboard ink pen and AFTER I attempted to wipe it clean a few times to write something else on it.  Didn't work.  Guess its a good thing I wrote something generic that will apply year round!

My "Home" sign to the right as you come in my entry. I purchased it in Canton and finally hung it up.  Its my starting piece for this wall.

My prize purchase in Canton this year.  My Texas star for the front porch.  Daddy got it hung up for us and I was so proud.  I love it!

Burn baby burn.  What an awesome release.  :)

Three special ladies in my life.  Stacy, Jana and Jennifer.  We talk almost daily.  We have helped each other through some tough times.

Homemade pigs in a blanket or "piggies" I made Sunday afternoon.  Not bad for my first go round!

Laugh, apologize and let go...

going to learn how to tie a scarf this way...its different and I liked it.

Peace my loves...

My new life planner came in Tuesday!!  Love it!!

he was SO EXCITED to get to school this morning, can't you tell?  LOL

This sinful thing was sinfully delicious...Pumpkin Cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting top with cinnamon sugared pecans.

ya'll have a beautiful evening...
