January is coming to a close and February will be opening its doors in just a few short hours, which means the anniversary of the worst day of my life, followed by the anniversary of the best day of my life, followed by the anniversary of my debut to this world. Yep...February is a tough month.
Groundhog Day is Tuesday. Do you think he will see his shadow again? With the weather the way its been, I'm thinking he'll be coming out and staying out but...I have been wrong before. I love winter--cold weather and I get along very well. I thrive on it. BUT, I'm ready for a little warmth. I said a little...that doesn't mean the 90s.
And speaking of weather, its going to get REALLY cold this week. Today's temps are pushing 70 but tomorrow we have a nasty little front working its way here bringing in some wicked weather followed by really cold temps. Thankfully boss man is letting us wear jeans the rest of the week which will be nice. I am also going to be taking my son and his friend to school in the morning so they aren't riding their bikes in this weather. Christopher was out sick early last week and is still coughing and sniffling so there's no need for him to be in this. They probably won't like it but tough noodles...they're getting carpooled by their moms this week!
I need a new TV. Our big TV in the living room has lost its color..looks more likes its been set to sepia. We'll adjust it but it goes right back to nothing eventually. Its annoying. I just don't know what kind of TV to get and frankly after Christmas I don't want to spend the money to get a new one. But its getting to bother me more and more so at the very least, I'm looking. I know what size I want and I kind of know what brands to look at but that's about it. Do I get an LCD or an LED? I have no idea because I don't know what the difference is. I do know I don't want a plasma. And this folks is my extensive knowledge in TV's. Pretty impressive huh...don't get too jealous.
I am constantly trying to come up with new meal ideas at my house but it seems that everything I pick out or lean towards has chicken in it. There's nothing wrong with chicken. I like chicken and the kids like chicken but a little pork and beef thrown in there every now and then would be nice, don't you think? Me too. And I have meals with pork and beef in them and I cook them. My point is I lean towards chicken...and that's all I'm saying. Just wanted you to know that.
WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE BUY MY HOUSE!!!! Do you think anyone heard me? Man I hope so. I'm so ready to get this house sold and move on. Of course I have no idea where the kids and I will live, (apartment or house) but I'm ready and willing to jump on that wagon as soon as we get a bite on the house...one that hangs on to the end. Its not the keeping the house picked up and cleaned all the time that bugs me, although my kids might say otherwise, its the not being able to move on, to have a new start, our own space, our own things, our own everything. In many ways this house is still keeping Jeff and I together, keeping us from really moving on with our lives. We both want this, we're both ready...we just need to get this house sold.
Believe, believe, BELIEVE!!

Mommy vs. Son
My son was less than thrilled with me this morning. He made the comment yesterday when I got home that it was hot riding home from school and he missed wearing shorts. I told him it wouldn’t be long before he’d be in them again and wishing it was cooler weather. So this morning after everyone is up, dressed and ready to get out the door, I go in his room to get Bella because she wanted her bubba when she got up - which is really no different than any morning - and there sits my boy in shorts.
Me: No sir, you are not wearing shorts to school.
Chris: Why?
Me: Because its cold outside this morning and you have been sick, no way.
Chris: But I’m tired of wearing jeans and it was hot yesterday.
Me: I’m sorry…its cold this morning and you’ve been sick, you’re wearing jeans.
Chris: Stomping around changing his britches…
Me: AND furthermore…you WILL wear a jacket on the way to school.
Chris: UGH!
Me: Keep it up and I’ll make you wear a hat and gloves too!
I’m so mean....but he DID did give me kisses before I left for work but I wasn’t feeling as much love.
Tales from the Bevers household. I hope you have a great weekend!!

Smile Today
I saw something on an email forward today that I really liked and wanted to share it with you.
"When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life a thousand reasons to SMILE"
I have no idea where exactly this originated from but I do love it...hope it makes you smile today.
Have a good one!

Happy Birthday Bella
My sweet girl turned 2 years old today. My how time flies! I still can't believe it. I opened the front door to take a look outside at the cold rainy weather this morning and laughed. The day I went to the hospital to have Miss Bella, I was in flip flops and shorts. How's that for January in Texas!
We had a party for Bella today, nothing too big, just family. She got a short nap in this morning so she was in a very good mood when the party started. I didn't get to take many pictures but Jeff is going to share the ones he got of her opening presents and cake with me. We had a great time playing and visiting with family and I'm so happy everyone could make it. Bella received lots of great gifts and the best one was a package of Gummie Lifesavers! We couldn't keep them away from her. :)
So Miss Isabella Marie...what have you been up to lately?
You are forming more sentences these days. We don't always know what you are saying but sometimes you make total sense. Something new comes from you every day. You LOVE to have clips and bows in your hair every day and even at night after I've washed your hair. You still hang on to your binky. Can go all day without it but the minute you're in the car, you start hollering for it. Some days you forget about it and mommy keeps it hidden but there are days its a lifesaver. You still adore your brother and love to be in the middle of whatever he is doing, mommy too. You look for him when you wake up in the morning and when I pick you up from daycare every day. You love being outside. I can't wait for it to warm up so we can play outside more. You have lots of new toys to play with although we've given a good test run inside already. Some of your favorite snacks are Goldfish, fruit chews, vanilla Oreos, bananas and chips. You like your shoes and you usually will want them on your feet even before you change out of your pajamas. Its the cutest thing. You adore puppies. Big ones, little ones, all kinds! And they are all "puppies" to you. You will love on any of them and get so excited to have them love you back. They're immediately your best friend. You noticed everything when you are outside...all sights and sounds. You are a true outdoors kind of girl. But on the flip side of that, you are a girly girl too. You love to put on a tutu or frilly skirt and priss around the house. We have been known to go to dinner with you dressed in one of your tutu's. Your favorite movies/cartoons are Snow White "owe white", Monsters, Inc., Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Toy Story 3, Handy Manny. You are so much fun and you make me laugh every day. I am so grateful for you and the happiness you fill me with. Even when you are hogging the bed and want to be snuggled up to me, I deep down love it because I know that soon enough you will be all grown up. Happy 2nd Birthday sweet girl, Mommy loves you!
